Windows Vista Support for ArcGIS Desktop with ArcGIS 9.2 SP 4 The Microsoft Windows Vista operating system extends the Windows platform with some additonal functionality. However this operating system also poses some challenges for applications running on Vista, as some functionality and behaviour from Windows XP has been changed. The following ArcGIS 9.2 SP4 products are supported on Windows Vista: -   ArcReader -   ArcView -   ArcEditor -   ArcInfo Desktop -   ArcInfo Workstation -   ArcGIS Desktop Extensions -   ArcGIS Engine Service pack 4 for ArcGIS 9.2 is required for Windows Vista support. However, there are some serious known issues that users should be aware of before deploying any of these ArcGIS Desktop products on Windows Vista. Note: ArcGIS Server 9.2, including ArcSDE, Image Server 9.2 and ArcIMS are not supported on Windows Vista. In the testing of ArcGIS 9.2 (Desktop and Engine) a number of issues were discovered that appear to be specific to the Windows Vista platform. Some of these issues are known issues with Windows Vista, some are fixed in current available Microsoft patches, and others will be fixed in future fixes available from Microsoft.
